New SONY “A” Series DSLR with Flip Screen Rumored

Submitted by Chris on Tuesday, 8 January 2008One Comment

For those of you who are Sony digital camera fans, I can across this site that has images rumored to be a new Sony A300 digital SLR. The rumored highlight of this newer model is the ability of the LCD screen to flip out. This would be a first on a digital SLR. It is also rumored to have a “live view” feature that enables you to preview what is seen through the lens live on the LCD instead of the viewfinder (like on a point and shoot camera). Details of the actual model number, megapixels, and other features have yet to be released. Personally, I’d stick with either Canon or Nikon (I’m a Nikon guy myself). I’m willing to bet the LCD screen is the same, if not very similar to the one found in Nikon’s new D3 and D300 cameras. Except it doesn’t flip out. This seems like something that would be more prone to damage, but I’m sure Nikon or Canon will “catch up” to Sony and make a digital SLR available with this in the years to come.
