For-sale Getty Images could go for $1.5 billion

Submitted by Brandon on Tuesday, 22 January 2008No Comment

It’s no secret that Getty Images is for sale. However, if you’re interested in buying the business, you’re going to have to dig deep in your wallet because the popular wire service has an asking price of $1.5 billionThe New York Times, a highly-more credible media source than those forum posts that we usually post camera rumors about, has reported that Getty Images has hired Goldman Sachs Group Inc. to auction off the company. While this sale have been rumored for quite some time now, it’s actually coming to fruition and there’s got to be some pretty big players looking into gobbling up this powerful media influence.“The potential sale, which has been rumored for months, has attracted interest from several buyers, mostly private equity firms, including Kohlberg Kravis Roberts [KKR.UL], Bain Capital LLC and others, The New York Times reported.”The sale probably won’t make a huge splash with most people, as long as Donald Trump or Mark Cuban isn’t involved.
