New Pentax K20D shoots 20 frames per second

Submitted by Brandon on Wednesday, 23 January 2008One Comment

This is pretty impressive. Pentax just released their spec sheet for the new K20D camera body and the machine will have a frame rate that rivals that of a video camera. Twenty-frames per second means that not only will you be able to be a photojournalist but also a George Lucas prodigy as well.

Originally found on this Sports Shooter forum post, the K20D spec sheet can be seen here. And if you would, take a look at the drive modes and you’ll see that the camera fires off 20 frames per second in burst mode. However, the images are only 1.6 mega-pixels but the novelty of this really can’t be ignored. Could we be seeing digital SLRs that shoot like video cameras (move over H-D) in just a few short years?
