Download Nikon D80 firmware update

Submitted by Brandon on Saturday, 26 January 2008One Comment

Alright you Nikon-heads out there, don’t forget to have the latest software on your camera. The Nikon D80 just received a nice firmware update definitely worth checking out, unless you want to be “that guy (or girl)” running the camera firmware equivalent of Windows 95.

You can check out the original post made by camera-news.com, and here are some of the specifics of the firmware update.

-The D80 is Certified for Windows Vista.
-Support for the new USB Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) has been added. The PTP option in the setup menu’s USB item will be modified to MTP/PTP. The icon will also be modified.
-The effects of noise reduction processing performed at shutter speeds of 1 - 8s with shutter speed set to bulb, when On is selected for Long exp. NR in the shooting menu, have been improved.

While the ability to play Doom on the back of the LCD screen has yet to be an added feature by any camera companies to their firmware (despite our incessant emails to do so), this is definitely a must for those hoping to keep their camera in top shape.

The firmware update for windows can be found here.

The firmware update for Mac can be found here.
