Sony unveils 25 mega pixel camera

Submitted by Brandon on Friday, 1 February 2008No Comment

Who needs 35 mm film? Sony had announced its 25 mega-pixel sensor a while ago, but everyone thought that Nikon or Canon would gobble up the technology. Not so. Sony’s going big-time.

While none of the actual specs have been released and right now the name of the camera is “Flagship Model System” (ooo, catchy), this just might make Sony a big time contender with Nikon and Canon.

Canon’s EOS-1Ds Mark III use to have the biggest sensor with a 21.1 mega-pixel resolution, but that’s not the case anymore.

The release date for the Sony Flagship Model System is set to be released sometime this year but that’s about as specific of information that we have. So who’s switching camera companies?
