Sony offers mega-pixels cheap with A350

Submitted by Brandon on Sunday, 3 February 2008No Comment

Canon Rebel watch out! The new Sony A350 may be the next big thing in the entry-level DSLR market. With a price tag of $1,399 and a megapixel resolution of 14.2, aspiring photographers have to take notice.

Sony has just announced the price on their new camera and while it’s not the cheapest it definitely has a lot to offer. With Canon about to announce their similar 450D that has a resolution of 12.2 mega-pixels, we might be seeing an industry dogfight on our hands.

“On paper, the Sony won’t knock Canon’s 400D ($999 for the body) off its perch as our A-List DSLR camera. But it compares very well against cameras up the next rung of the price ladder. You can still pay more than $1,500 online for the 10.1 megapixel Canon 40D body (though the 6.5fps burst rate is handy), and Pentax’s 14.6 megapixel K20D is tentatively priced at $1,999.”
