Q: What was the first digital camera ever made? Tim S from Chicago, Ill.
A: The first digital camera was invented by Steven Sasson, an engineer at Eastman Kodak, in 1975. Sasson used state-of-the-art CCD image sensor chips, which recorded black and white photos on a video cassette. The camera weighed eight pounds, had a megapixel resolution of .01, and it took 23 seconds for it to develop its first image.
… not exactly the Rebel Xsi, but it was a start.
