Wow, these are just plain awesome. Not only are they well done, but very innovative too. The photographer pays a lot of attention to the detail in the recreations as well. Take a look. Feature Photographer of the Week: Balakov's buddy icon

Lighting Info: The main light was a Nikon SB-28 on 1/64 power mounted on a lightstand in a shoot through brolly box about 2 feet to camera left positioned slightly above the workers. The background was lit with an SB-24 on 1/16 power with a piece of white sheet over it to bring the power down even more. The idea was to get an outdoor look to the light, which meant a big soft lightsource. The umbrella is about as close as it can be without blowing out the scene at f2.8.

Minor photoshop work to remove the cotton suspending the minifig and convert to B&W.

Lighting Info: Nikon SB-28 at 1/2 power mounted on a lightstand in a shoot through brolly about 1 foot to camera left pointing down at the scene. Foamcore board at the back to get an even reflection in the water (thank you Light, Science & Magic!). Triggered with eBay remotes.

Then we have some very cool and clever Star Wars Lego and Indian Jones portraits.

Lighting was an SB-28 with omnibounce to camera left on 1/4 power.

Lit with two flashes on 1/32 power from the front left and front right into shoot through umbrellas.

Lit mostly with ambient tungsten light from above. Fill light from a torch reflected off a silver takeaway lid aimed at his face.

Lit with an SB-800 into a shoot through brolly to camera left. Set at 1/8 power to give enough for f/8.Lit with a desk lamp from above. Processed in Photoshop with Alienskin Exposure 2 (Polachrome - Cool faded) ——-For more information and photos from the photographer here.
