Remember those embarrassing family photos from the 80s where your mullet had its own zip code? Well instead of hiding them in a closet somewhere, maybe you should take a cue from a family in Argentina, who have taken a portrait of each family member on June 17th every year since 1976 and then posted the transition throw time online.

They’ve been featured on ABC News, and what started out as two photos of Diego Goldberg and his wife Susy, blossomed into a photo essay of their family of five that spans 31 years. And Diego, who is professional photographer, has sported a beard in every one of his photos. Now that takes some devotion.

You can check out his post here. Called an arrow of time, this is probably the closest we’re ever going to get to freezing time. Although considering how embarrassed people get when they see photos of themselves 20 years ago, that’s probably a good thing.
