Canon A470 Reviews
People have quite a few nice things to say about this very affordable ($130) and very capable camera.
Infosynce loves the cameras quality images, even if it is just seven megapixels.
The Canon PowerShot A470 only offers 7-megapixels and 3.4x zoom, but its updated style and superb image-quality arguably make it a better deal than 8-megapixel PowerShots costing $20-$50 more. If you’re looking for image quality above all else, the A470 is the PowerShot lineup’s sweet spot. Release: March 2008. Price: $130.
Pros: Excellent image-quality, cool design, smooth interface, broad ISO range.
Cons: Slow image-processing, no manual mode.
Features
Camera Resolution : 7.1 MP
What’s Hot
Low price, sharp pictures, speedy operation, good colour
What’s Not
Chromatic aberration issues, noise perhaps a touch high, boxy design
The Final Word
If you’re on a budget you’ll be hard pressed to find a better camera for your dollar. It doesn’t take the best pictures on earth and it leaves a little to be desired in terms of style, but the Canon PowerShot A470 certainly is good value for money.
Cameratown liked the camera’s value and thought it was the best choice for beginning photographers.
One of the latest “A” series models from Canon this year, the PowerShot A470 is one of the best deals available for an entry-level digital camera. The combination of excellent quality images, increased performance from previous models and the all around ease of use makes this camera perfect for anyone looking for their first digital camera or someone needing a simple camera to keep for use on a moments notice.
Overall it seems with this camera that if you’re looking for an entry-level choice, this is the way to go. It’s a long ways off from the Mark III but you can’t beat the price and quality, it’s “bang for your buck” value is through the roof.
