11 tips for better candid photography
Tired of the same posed shots of those wonderful images of someone’s backside? Here are some tips to improve your candid photography.
Digital Photography School, in all their smartness, have come up with 11 tips for making your candid photography awesome.
Here’s what they had to say:
1. Take you camera everywhere
Because you can’t take photos unless you have a camera.
2. Use a long zoom
That way you don’t have to get in people’s faces.
3. Kill the flash
Bright lights scare people.
4. Shoot lots
The more shots you have to choose from, the better.
5. Position yourself strategically
Don’t be the guy in the back, get in the thick of things.
6. Photograph people doing things
Because that’s better than them standing around.
7. Photography people with people
Because people tend to do things together.
8. Shoot from the hip
You’ll get some interesting angles and people wont realize you’re taking photos.
9. Mix up you perspective
Go high, low, any angle that is different than eye level.
10.Frame images with foreground elements
They can add a lot to photo.
11. Take posed shots in candid
This mixes things up and gets people more comfortable.
