Ice Mountain

Posted on 21 April 2008 by Brandon

Well this is bizarre. Thank’s to some ingenuity and some water pipes, some smart people have made a rather strange ice wall.

Put on by the Alaskan Alpine Club, the ice wall started like this. Their original rotating water head broke, so they were back to square one and had to design multi-faceted water heads. Like this one.

And now throw in a little freezing weather in Alaska, and you’ve got this:

Now times that by about ten times and you’ve got the final result.

That’s quite the mountain. If you’d like to see how they did the entire process, head on over to the Alaskan Alpine Club.
