Nikon Coolpix S600 Reviewed

There’s some shortcomings with this compact camera but does that hold it back?

The Mercury News.com has the look at Nikon’s ultra-slim compact camera, and the results are mixed. Here’s what they had to say:

On one hand, the Nikon Coolpix S600 is a very attractive ultracompact capable of producing pretty 10-megapixel photos. On the other hand, it’s a tad slow and under-featured with an occasionally annoying interface. Nor is it priced aggressively enough to make some of these trade-offs more palatable.

Editors’ rating: 6.6 out of 10, good

The good: Compact and attractive; very nice outdoor photos; optical image stabilization; relatively wide-angle lens.

The bad: Annoying interface conventions; slow shot-to-shot performance.

The bottom line: A good, though not outstanding, compact camera, the Nikon Coolpix S600 is hindered by some shortcomings in its performance and operation.

If you don’t need quick speed, this might be the camera for you. For the full review, head on over to the Mercury News.com.
