Fujifilm releases six new FinePix cameras–one with HD capability
FujiFilm announced yesterday the FinePix S2000HD, a 10 megapixel point-and-shoot with full HD video capability – one of six new FinePix cameras the company released this week.
The S2000HD can transmit both still images and video in HDTV quality “compatible with “compatible with 1080i (interlaced) for still and 720p (progressive) for movies,” according to FujiFilm.
The S2000HD is being billed as a camera for “advanced amateur” photographers and carries a price tag of about $400 (but this link is showing it on sale at amazon for $299.95). It boasts a 2.7” LCD screen, a 15x wide-angle optical zoom, face detection with automatic red-eye removal, and solid continuous shooting capabilities for a consumer camera—it can handle 6.8 frames per second at 5mp and 13.5 fps at 3mp. Check out more details at FujiFilm’s site here.
FujiFilm also added four new J series cameras yesterday, all designed to be affordable but fashionable and effective point-and-shoots. While they do have a fairly basic setup, with 10 megapixels, a 2.7” screen, simple controls, slim design and snazzy-looking aluminum cases, you’re getting some pretty good bang for your buck. Dpreview has posted a comprehensive look at the cameras here.
The FinePix F60fd sits between the S series and J series, with a price tag of around $300 and all the standard point-and-shoot features as well as continuous shooting of 5 fps at 3mp for up to 12 frames, according to FujiFilm. Read more about it on FujiFilm’s site here.
