Most common causes of camera death revealed

A UK insurance company has released a report about the most common ways photographers generally break their cameras, Amateur Photographer reports.

Most of the photographers questioned for a survey conducted by insurance provider Domestic and General admitted to “perching precariously” to get shots, the article reports, and this caused many to fall either onto hard surfaces or into water.

In fact, dropping cameras or falling with them onto hard surfaces or into water accounted for about three quarters of camera deaths, according to the report. Note the use of the word “death” there as opposed to “damage” or some other cold, detached term. We consider it a death, and every time a camera dies, we here at Askthephotographer.com cry a little inside.
