New Canon 5D Mark II info (or 7D, or 9D–whatever you prefer to call it)
A reliable source at a Canon dealership in California tells us that we can expect a Canon 5D replacement announcement–whether it be the 5D Mark II, the 7D or the 9D–by the end of this month.
We have heard elsewhere that Canon has been slated to make an announcement regarding a new product on Aug. 26–the timing seems believable, and the individual we heard it from is quite believable as well.
Additionally, a reader on a Dpreview forum has posted this link to a Buy.com page purporting to offer the paperback field manual for the 5D Mark II (that’s the name the page uses) as for sale as of Nov. 1, 2008.
Given the vast amount of time between the release of the venerable 5D and now, this all seems like pretty solid info. Keep checking back here for updates–as soon as we know more, you’ll know more.

I think there will be a 7D and a 5D Mark II, that’s what I heard since some days. One or both should be annouced the September 28 (Photokina) the 7D should be the big one.
