Sony releases upgraded Memory Stick
Sony Recording Media & Energy has announced the Memory Stick PRO-HG DUO HX, the latest version of Sony’s proprietary, flah-based recording medium that the company says can perform up to a third faster than its predecessor, the Memory Stick PRO Duo.
The upgrade is of course designed to integrate with the soon-to-be-released Sony a900 DSLR. The company’s new flagship, “with its 5 frames per second continuous shooting capability,” is mentioned in Sony’s release as one of the driving reasons for the upgrade, since, “the pressure is on for flash memory.”
Sony’s Memory Stick is used in its PSP gamer and in all the company’s digital cameras, a fact that generates annoyance among some photographers and indifference among others.
