‘Time’ shows recently re-discovered photos of Obama from 1980

Photographer-turned psychologist Lisa Jack has unearthed film from a photo shoot she did with Barack Obama in 1980, when the president-elect was a freshman at Occidental College in Los Angeles, and the shots got picked up by Time Magazine.

Time has a 12-slide online gallery (that starts out with six frames) of Jack’s photos of Obama, including a few showing him with a cigarette. The magazine reports that Jack initially dug the negatives out of her basement “on a dare from a skeptical friend.

Lisa Jack’s pictures of Obama are so well done. She did a great job on these Obama pictures. Lisa Jack’s pictures really capture Obama’s younger days. Awesome!
