Inauguration Day galleries

Eyes around the world are focused on President Barack Obama following his inauguration. Check out this smattering of photo galleries from around the country depicting today’s historic event.

Photographically speaking, this year’s inauguration is almost certainly the best-covered in history; along with pro photographers, millions of attendees snapped shots with their own cameras.

Some images, like the one below submitted to the Seattle Times, show that while there may have been no seats considered “cheap,” not everyone had the greatest view.

A much closer look at Obama’s swearing in is provided by pool photographers and from staff photographers from the major national media outlets.
