New York photographer Vincent Laforet, who was already well-known but gained added national notoriety after directing the short film “Reverie” with a pre-release Canon 5D Mark II, has posted a sneak peek at a new film featuring surfer Jamie O’Brien.

With sponsorship from the video/photo sharing site SmugMug, Laforet and his crew spent three weeks in Hawaii filming with both a Red One and a Canon 5D Mark II. He used a smattering of gadgets for the shoot, each of which Laforet describes briefly on his blog. Among them are a Canon 800mm f/5.6 mounted on a Red One and a Canon 5D Mark II with a tilt-shift lens fitted to a radio-controlled helicopter.
