Two photos of the unconfirmed D3x–the rumored successor to the highly successful D3 digital SLR, Nikon’s flagship camera–may have been posted and then removed from Nikon’s site.

Nikon Rumors reported today that it had confirmed three new Nikon lenses to be released at Photokina—two fixed, wide-aperture lenses and a new 70-200 f/2.8 lens.

The word on the Web is that these shots of the highly anticipated D90 were leaked through the Target Web site.

Photography Bay is claiming that it has “rock solid” information that Nikon will announce the new D90 on Aug. 27, when Nikon’s next press conference is scheduled, citing a report from photographer/blogger Thom Hogan.
