Shot a fun assignment for GQ Magazine today. Bombay Sapphire is running an advertorial showing different bartenders from across the US, so I went down to the Heathman and spent an hour mixing some very strong drinks with Jeremy. I lit the scene with 5 lights, the main light is a medium sized softbox with a grid on it to keep the light on just the subject, a background light with a blue gel to light up the Bombay bottles, 2 lights behind with 20 degree grids for the rim lights and a canon speedlight with a snoot to light the bottle and drink on the counter.
